If you are receiving this update from me, you previously or recently subscribed to my newsletter. Thanks for all of your support!
I’m moving over to substack because it’s a great way to share and find content that is relevant to you! I hope that you’ll enjoy and share my newsletter, and also use it as a launch-point to discover other great authors, books, science fiction adventures, inspiration and knowledge.
In addition to sharing information about where I will be appearing, what I’m working on, and about upcoming publications, I will also share what I’m learning in my research, what I’m reading, and events that my readers and fellow authors might be interested in. Feel free to share back! This is a community, not a monologue, or at least that’s what I’m hoping for!
Where have you been?
Currently, I’m working on ReInception, Book 2, final revisions on the first of a YA Alien Invasion duology (or maybe it’s a trilogy…we’ll see), and an adult thriller about a woman getting revenge on a small town. ReInception 2 is about 2/3rd of the way done, and I hope that it will be ready for publication by early to mid 2024!
Where Will You Be?
I’m excited to announce that, from January 12 - 15, I will be appearing on several panels at Arisia in Boston!
Saturday, Jan 13 at 5:30 pm: Broad Universe Rapid Fire Reading (Faneuil)
Sunday, Jan 14 at 1 pm: Crime, Punishment & Justice in SFF (Faneuil)
Sunday, Jan 14 at 4 pm: Writing Realistic Young Adult Fiction (Faneuil)
Monday, Jan 15 at 10 am: Story Pitch Challenge (Marina Ballroom 2)
Monday, Jan 15 at 11:30 am: Laws, Lawyers & Trials (Marina Ballroom 3)
When I’m not sitting on panels, you will be able to find me with my amazing new friends from the Broad Universe Community - come visit us in the dealer room and discover great books by me and other attending authors!
Also, I recently had a great interview with with authors Robin Stevens and Benjamin Roesch on their Perspectives on Pages podcast. We discussed so many topics, but mostly Young Adult and New Adult writing.
Finally, I’m thrilled to announce that I have been accepted to the NorCal Writers retreat with my adult thriller. I’ve been starving for the company of other writers and I can’t wait to report back about the experience. I’m honored to be learning from bestselling author Zakiya Delila Harris (“The Other Black Girl”), and agents Stephanie Delman (Trellis Literary), and Jill Marr (Sandra Dijkstra) and, of course, the great Heather Lazare.
Anyhow…thanks for being here with me!
I hope this is going to be a fun and informative format for sharing content with my readers. See you soon and happy holidays!!! May your stack of gifts be full of books!
